    Board-Certified, Dedicated Breast Radiologists

  • mencini_200.jpgBoard certified in Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Mencini has been an active member of the St. Anthony Hospital care community since the mid-1980s. He helped guide the development of the state-of-the-art St. Anthony Breast Center and has served as medical director since its opening in 2012. Dr. Mencini also served as the hospital's interim CEO during its move to the new St. Anthony Medical Campus and has helped guide medical care as a three-term president of the St. Anthony Medical Staff and a member of the Board of Trustees.

    Dr. Mencini is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a graduate of St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his M.D. from Ohio State University, interned at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, and served both his residency and his fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

    In addition to his work on the St. Anthony campus, Dr. Mencini currently serves on the board of Denver's Craig Hospital and has served on the Susan G. Komen Foundation board. Married, he is the proud father of four adult sons and his grandchildren.

    Taj KattapuramDr. Taj Kattapuram is a board-certified radiologist from Boston, Massachusetts. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. After graduating from Tufts, she completed a radiology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. She remained at Massachusetts General Hospital and completed a vascular interventional radiology fellowship.

    Dr. Kattapuram believes in putting patient centered care at the forefront of her practice. She dedicates herself to remaining abreast of current education and applying the latest cutting edge techniques. To ensure patients receive the best care in a welcoming environment, she provides “a personal, individualized approach by surrounding my patients with a team committed to excellence.”

    Outside of the office, Dr. Kattapuram enjoys traveling. She is a self-professed foodie and enjoys being active through fitness.

  • Dr. Jodi Chambers

    Dr. Jodi Chambers is a board-certified breast surgeon with extensive medical experience and surgical expertise. Dr. Chambers specializes in the surgical management of breast diseases such as breast cancer and monitoring patients at high risk. A Denver native, she served as Chief Medical Officer at St. Anthony Hospital and as Director of Trauma Services at both St. Anthony Central and Littleton Adventist Hospital prior to dedicating her surgical practice to breast disease management. When it comes to her patients, Dr. Chambers believes that understanding one’s options is the key to making treatment decisions that are right for each individual.

    Dr. Caitlyn Truong

    Dr. Caitlyn Truong is a board-certified, fellowship trained breast surgeon specializing in the care and treatment of varying breast diseases, ranging from benign breast conditions to breast cancers. She earned her medical degree from University of California at San Diego where she developed her interest in oncology. She then completed General Surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center and completed her training in Breast Surgical Oncology at Stanford University. Dr. Truong believes in a holistic, compassionate approach to patient care and treatment. She supports the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. Her interests include survivorship, with an emphasis on promoting health and fitness.

  • Nurse Navigator

  • A breast cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. Patients and their families can find themselves inundated with information and scheduling appointments, in addition to treatment option decisions to be made. Our breast nurse navigator can help. The nurse navigator’s role is to support and guide each patient during their treatment process. A nurse navigator can help with many aspects including:

    • Testing/Treatment overview – The nurse navigator can provide an overview of diagnostic testing and treatment, including describing tests that may be needed, or explaining treatment options.
    • Personalized support: The nurse navigator may accompany patients to some physician appointments, visiting with them the day of and after their surgery, and answering questions and providing connections to additional resources for emotional support, financial concerns or transportation, etc. 
    • Educational materials: The nurse navigator can share a wide variety of educational materials throughout breast cancer treatment including tips for managing the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
